Kelvinator is a brand owned by Swedish manufacturing giant Electrolux. Kelvinator was founded on September 18, 1914, in the United States of America, particularly in the state of Michigan. Originally a refrigerator manufacturing company, it was named Electro-Automatic Refrigerating Company, however it became Kelvinator on February of 1916 in honour of the Irish-Scottish physicist who discovered the absolute zero, Lord Kelvin (William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin).
In 1936, Kelvinator introduced the “Kelvin Home”, which was one of the earliest attempts to market in-home central air conditioning and heating to ordinary consumers. Customers could choose from a number of different home designs, all of which were equipped with climate control systems and the latest electric appliances, and they were advertised to cost about $7,500 for a six-room house. Over the years, Kelvinator developed its line of products until it became what it is today.
Kelvinator Air Conditioners focus on only two air conditioner types: the split air conditioning system and window air conditioning system.
The split system ranges in power from 2.5kW to 9.0kW, some are equipped with wireless connectivity and have LCD remote controls. They are Wi-Fi enabled and you can control them directly from your smartphone or tablet, with the help of an app. The Kelvinator app has a simple interface, which lets you switch on/off the air conditioner, schedule timers, control fan speeds and even set the temperature. It’s a lot simpler than using the usual remotes found on most other air conditioners. The two series, the K200 and the K600 series have an impressive set of features designed to improve efficiency and reliability.
Some of Kelvinator’s window type air conditioners are reverse cycle air conditioners. The good thing about this brand is the functional design and practical innovation, the units are easy to clean and simple to use.
The Kelvinator range isn’t known to have all the high-tech features or be as energy efficient as competitors however they are budget-friendly in comparison and still provide simple and effective cooling.
If your air conditioning needs are pretty straightforward and simple, Kelvinator is a good choice. With its user-friendly features, minimalistic design and price, it should serve your air conditioning system needs without complications.
